3/16 – Math – Fractions (halves)
Based on the Usborne book 1001 Animals to Spot
3/16 – Today we “spelled” our own words using magnetic letters. It’s also fun to use lowercase scrabble tiles or you can print our your own alphabet letters. I gave my kids several letters and told them to make their own silly words. To get started, I would specify THREE letter words and use just one vowel to get started.
This activity helps children practice making words and internalizing how to pronounce words. Since these are silly words, there’s no pressure to “get it right.”
For example: lab, lap, bal, pat, nab, ban, mal, lan
