Getting Started

If you’re at home with your children due to school closures, what can you do?

Take it one day at a time.

Take this opportunity to PLAY with your children. Break out the legos, nerf guns, and dolls. Find the game boards and cards. Play puzzles.

Read lots of books. Listen to books on tape. Act out the stories.

If you’re considering homeschooling even after schools reopen, now’s a great time to get into a learning routine. (Note: routine doesn’t equal highly structured, unless that’s your jam ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Here’s a great list of companies who are offering free subscriptions to amp up your schooling during this time. Check them out!

Next week, I am hoping to post a video of how I teach calendar time to give you an idea of how to start the morning with younger students. Having a morning routine so your kids know what to expect is lifesaving. And it’s a great way to familiarize them with academic concepts just in case you don’t get to it the rest of the day ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Don’t forget to check out my blog (under “Mama Pedagogue” and specific subjects hover over the button) for more ideas!
